Our busy beach-side pub, located on a spectacular surf beach, is looking for an experienced and dedicated Head Chef to take over our exciting, busy kitchen. You will be expected to bring in new customers and keep our existing customers coming back for more through maintaining our high standard, often having to cater to up to 300 covers.
As Head Chef, you will be fully responsible for the team’s ongoing training, development and motivation. You will be managing a team of up to 6 chefs, plus 3 kitchen porters, in the Summer and be responsible for stock management, rotas, ordering, GP management and menu creation.
You should be hard-working, be able to work calmly under pressure, have excellent leadership skills, be creative and you should be actively interested in contemporary cooking.
We are looking for someone who understands food, a Head Chef who can share a common goal with us in focussing on taste, quality, produce, well balanced and consistent dishes.
Onsite accommodation available.
Previous experience as Head Chef is mandatory.
Cooking will be required in the preliminary interview. |

Shop Manager needed for beach-side surf/beach shop located on one of Cornwall’s beautiful surf spots.
You will be a bright, friendly, reliable person with excellent people/communication skills. Previous retail experience is essential and previous management experience is preferred as you must be able to confidently manage all aspects of a small team of 4 staff members. Intermediate computing skills required as you the role has an administration/back office element.
You will be responsible for:
• The commercial success of the Harlyn Inn Beach Shop.
• Ensuring that the shop is of the highest standard, profitable, pleasant and safe.
• Achieving shop sales margins.
• Leading and managing all shop personnel.
• Delivering a fashion, hire and sundries service.
• Maintaining systems compliance.
• Delivering to company standards.
